The TC2200 Multi-Drop Modem maximizes the reliability of communication links in Ring or String topology industrial fiber optic networks. A “dual Master” extreme fault tolerant version that can poll remote units from the opposite direction in the event of a link or device failure is optional.

The TC2200 supports RS232, RS422 or RS485 interfaces and is often used to interconnect RTUs, PLCs & IEDs in Utility, SCADA, Traffic Control & Industrial Process Control networks.

Each unit comes with one or two pairs of fiber interfaces and either 2 RS232 channels or one RS485/RS422 channel. The second RS232 channel can be used for data, RTS/CTS handshaking signals or as a telephone extension with the TC1900 RS232 Telephone Extender. It supports asynchronous data rates up to 38.4 Kbps and offers a ruggedized, substation hardened (-40°C to 80°C) version.
