DDP terminal strip protectors will
ensure the reliable operation of networked equipment connected to Token
Ring, RS422, RS232, Short Haul Modems, Muxes, DDS, Analog Dial Up, ISDN, T1
and most other communication interfaces.
|
- State-of-the-art, avalanche diode technology
- Compact in-line installation
- High speed, high energy handling capability
- Low shunt capacitance to reduce
signal loss
- Expandable design allowing for protection
of up to 100 wires or 12 ports in a
single package
|
|
These surge energies are
clamped by the AC power protector into the communication ground, damaging
expensive communications hardware.
DDP protectors are
specifically designed to give added security to electronic devices with
extremely low tolerance for voltage rises or ground loop energies. This
protection is particularly important for equipment networked at distances
greater than 30 feet and installations in high lightning areas.
DDP models protect virtually
any communication interface including: 10BASE T and 100BASE T Ethernet,
RS422, RS232, RS423 and most high speed LAN/WAN interfaces. Combined into a
compact interface unit, the devices exhibit an extremely fast response time
of less than 5 nanoseconds.

NOTE: Special
units can be supplied for any clamp voltage between 7.5 V and 240 V. The
following information must be specified when ordering special units:
1. Connector type and number of wires to
be protected (ex., RJ21, 100 wires)
2. System application (ex., Token Ring,
Ethernet, ISDN, T1)
INSTALLATION
To install, insert the protector in series between the incoming
communication lines and the I/O port of the equipment to be protected.
The protector ground wire must be connected to the metal chassis of the
equipment being protected. Units must be installed at both ends of the
data cable for effective protection.
CAUTION!
Ground wire must be grounded directly to the metal chassis of the
equipment being protected. The equipment chassis must be connected to
earth through a properly grounded AC power receptacle.
